In December 2015, Tribes - the multitenant business centre with extra services- opened its doors at Utrecht Papendorp. In 2016 the Tribes Utrecht city centre location was added. We perceive high demand for our inspiring, flexible workspace in Utrecht. Tribes’ business centres innovative concept is all about people, we make them our main concern. Utrecht is a very attractive city to set up business. Its central location - surrounded by the main highways of the Netherlands and at the heart of (inter)national public transport connections - ensures outstanding accessibility. Housing the largest university of the Netherlands, adds to its attractiveness. Quicker and easier to find young talent, knowledge based industry is attracted by the university, which is a bonus for new business; in short: a wonderful city for your company. Capgemini Nederland has had a strong bond with the city of Utrecht for more than 40 years now. The accessibility of our headquarters is very important for our consultants. Utrecht is located on the junction of the most important highways and railroads in the Netherlands. This makes the city optimally accessible both by car and train. Utrecht plays a very important role for us in attracting young talent. With its own university and a number of colleges, combined with a good and safe living climate, Utrecht appeals to the well educated youngsters we are looking for. The fact that Schiphol Airport and the Randstad conurbation is only 30 minutes away makes the choice for Utrecht for us as a multinational an easy one. Hans Scholten, Corporate Real Estate Director North & West Europe at Capgemini

Utrecht is increasingly developing into ‘health valley’. Throughout the years many health organizations have moved here. It offers a productive base for collaboration, research and innovation. Also in the areas in which the St. Antonius Hospital is specialized: cardiovascular disease, lung complaints and cancer. This is good news for patient care. Knowing one another and knowing what we can do for one another often leads to something special. Together you can provide qualitatively better and more effective care. An example of this is the initiative The Neighborhood Specialist (De Wijkspecialist). For each medical specialization we have a contact person for the general practitioners in the Utrecht neighborhoods. We developed this concept together with Stichting Overvecht Gezond and Achmea. The GP can ask the neighborhood specialist for advice in the event of any non-urgent medical and organizational issues. This initiative has improved the collaboration between all parties and consequently also the care given to the patient. In one out of three consultations we now avoid unnecessary referrals. Douwe Biesma, CEO St. Antonius Hospital Utrecht

In 2003 Mercedes Nederland bundled its wholesale activities into a uniquely designed head office at Papendorp. The central location, the good road network and the optimal accessibility were already in the 1970s reasons for Mercedes-Benz Nederland to base itself in Lage Weide. Thanks to the large amount of affordable housing more and more staff are moving to Utrecht or the direct vicinity. Hans-Bahne Hansen, CEO at Mercedes Nederland

Unify is one of the world’s largest suppliers of integrated communications software and services. We supply our solutions to some 75% of the companies from the Fortune Global 500. We work solely with partners and resellers that are spread throughout the Netherlands. This makes Utrecht the ideal base. Central and easily accessible, also for our international guests and colleagues. Utrecht was therefore our first choice, and has turned out to be a real success. Papendorp helps enormously in creating a good image amongst international guests that the Netherlands is more than just canals, windmills, clogs and cheese. Here we show how innovative and progressive the Dutch are and how we deal with modern technology and architecture. The wonderful history and rich culture of downtown Utrecht provides the perfect balance. René Hochstenbach, General Manager at Unify

ABN AMRO Lease is growing. In order to accommodate this expansion, on July 1, 2015 we moved to a landmark location in Utrecht. The reason for moving to ‘De Mirage’ was, in addition to accessibility, mainly due to sustainability. For example, we make use of innovative climate control to cool our hardware (using outside air); the premises has been awarded an EPC A energy label and for its interior and finishing we opted for the cradle to cradle principle. A great deal of work is currently being carried out on modernizing the various offices, and the business parks are receiving a facelift. As a result, many international firms are keen to have their offices in Utrecht. We have deliberately chosen to stay in Utrecht. The central location and accessibility, both by car and public transport, make the city the best place to have our headquarters. What’s more, there’s an excellent connection between Utrecht and Schiphol Airport. Our foreign business contacts can get to our office in no time. And the quality of life here is pretty high. Utrecht has a wonderful city center, pleasant restaurants, good shops, interesting museums and impressive music venues. And all this within walking distance from one another. Emlyn van der Wal, Chief Operating Officer at ABN AMRO Lease

For a biotechnological company such as Genmab, Utrecht Science Park is an excellent and easily accessible business location. We are situated nearby high-quality knowledge institutes, biomedical courses and faculties of the sciences and veterinary medicine. Together with University Medical Center Utrecht and various other life science companies, they form an excellent basis for collaboration and exchanging knowledge and technical possibilities. Genmab regards Utrecht Science Park as a unique ecosystem, where innovation actively leads to breakthroughs in the development of new medicines. In addition to the above factors, Utrecht offers a wonderful living climate with the advantages of a large city and yet a green and sustainable living environment. Yvo Graus, Vice President Pre-Clinical Operations at Genmab

Nexa Velo Advocaten is in downtown Utrecht, on the Maliebaan which is rich in history. At the edge of the city center there are many modern business parks. Utrecht is central and so the ideal place to locate your business. A great many people come from outside the city to work here. Utrecht is also one of the largest student cities in the Netherlands, with many students from home and abroad. The city is not only commercially appealing, it is also rich in history and culture, such as the Dom Tower and the Central Museum. There are many restaurants and places for entertainment as well, all at a walking distance from the Maliebaan. Ideal after a hard day’s work. Rien Braakman, General Manager and lawyer at Nexa Velo Advocaten

Rabobank is an international financial services provider, with its cooperative roots in Utrecht. Utrecht is a city with many young people, and in all respects a true student city. The intellectual level associated with this makes it an inspirational environment in which to live and work. This special atmosphere is attractive to both national and international companies that wish to base themselves in Utrecht. The Uithof, with its university and Science Park, forms the cradle of science and innovation. I once jokingly said in a debate that Utrecht was the ‘knikkerkuiltje (magnet) of the Netherlands’ as it has so many points in its favor: a central location, a favorable living climate and a convenient size. Utrecht offers a fantastic quality of life thanks to its attractive inner city, its culture and the surrounding countryside. Utrecht confirms the proposition that a high living climate is essential for a vital, stimulating economy. Rien Nagel, Rabobank Executive Board
